Remember this photo I used in this previous post? In Belgium and French, en route on our holiday we saw many more of those walls. The walls sometimes have fantastic patterns and are mostly made of slate, although I think the blue tiles are made of copper. I think it was Erica Hogenbirk, who pointed [...]

Inspiration is a strange thing, how it works that is… For me inspiration is still a mystery, sometimes it works very indirect, sometimes it hits me in the face. Like with this one … I am sure, one day this will become a brooch. So sorry, I can’t give credit for who took this picture. [...]
Homage to the painter Frida Kahlo

A while ago I discovered the wonderful blog, Mar de color rosa of the Spanish jewelry maker Montserrat Lacomba. For lovers, connoisseurs and creators of contemporary jewelry her blog is a must. A great blog packed with information about jewelry shops - galleries - designers, -makers, - photographers - exhibitions, etc. etc., too numerous to mention. Highly recommended! Montserrat Lacomba lives and works on the Spanish island of Formentera. Most of her jewelry is very colorful and sober in form; Montserrat often makes use of enamel. Her latest series of jewelry is an homage to the paintings of Frida Kahlo.

Yesterday afternoon we took photos of our latest jewelry . The whole living room changes into a photo studio and is completely turned upside down because the big bulky lights and all the cords and cables take a lot of room. Much fun with the dogs because they were our photo model again. Here’s a [...]
