I was first introduced to the handmade bags of Weidesign last year at the design fair ”Meesterlijk” in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Weidesign is the new brand of designers Chantal van der Erve and Rob Green.
They make beautiful felt and leather laptop bags. This link brings you to the online store… (sorry only in Dutch)

Sustainability is an important selection criterion in addition to quality.
For example, recycling is taken very seriously.

Has the life of your bag after a long and intense use come to an end? Send it on to Meadow Sign. The designers then use the fine materials in new designs.

Slowly but surely the weather is warming up. No need for warm woolen shawls anymore. So instead Yokoo started making woolen totes.

Liefs Lien (yes… I know, hard to pronounce, what it means is: With love from Lien) is a Dutch atelier for handmade bags. Leather bags that are attractive, sturdy, multifunctional, often unique and fashionable. Soon bags for men will also be included in the collection. Those bags are the brilliant creations of German Brazilian designer Edson Raupp, whose company is based in London.

Red beauty with buttons.

The black and red bag has been cleverly recycled from none other than the parts of a men’s pinstriped suits, complete with labels.

Both bags are featured in the museum shop of the Victoria & Albert museum in London.

This museum shop is one of the greatest museum shops in Europe. From the beautiful to the plain bizarre, there’s practically no better place to browse for presents and other fun items. They have an amazing selection of books as well. Check it out over the weekend, have fun!
