Hotel The Exchange is an initiative by Lloyd Hotel and the cultural embassy Amsterdam. Students of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute dressed the rooms like models on the catwalk.

As a visitor you sleep in fashion and wake up in style…

The hotel is located in three buildings. In the same building there is a 230 m2 contemporary department store Options! and a restaurant Stock.

The site of Wee House is a big inspiration for me. Most of the houses they build have clean lines, timeless quality and basic shapes.

It sits on the bank of Kielder Water and Forest, Northumberland, UK. It’s actually a tiny decorative piece of art, providing a stopping place for visitors walking or cycling along the lakeside path, while its beautiful surroundings serve as a stage set or backdrop to the fictional love story between Freya and Robin.

The project actually consists of two tiny cabins facing each other across the lake. Robin’s Hut is on the North bank, on the edge of the woodland amongst fir tress and rocks;

whereas Freya’s cabin is situated directly opposite Robin’s Hut, to give him the best chance of seeing her cabin across the lake.

This town house in Landskrona, Sweden, is build by architects Johan Oscarson and Jonas Elding. They have an office in Stockholm, covering both Swedish and international architecture, from museums to private houses, interiors, furniture and product design.

This lovely private refuge is located in Bachte-Maria-Leerne, about 10 kilometers from the city of Gent, Belgium. Gent-based architecture studio Wim Goes Architectuur designed the beautiful extension to this residence. The wooden addition sits above a new wine cellar and extends partly over the pond.

The natural, graying wood, the green vegetation and the blue sky and pond create a harmonious balance, accented by the slim vertical lines of the largest surfaces. Unpretentious simplicity with functional clarity, that results in stark beauty with Japanese-Finnish undertones.

Wim Goes is an award-winning architect, born in 1969 in Ghent. He established Wim Goes Architectuur in 1997. The firm’s work includes private, public and retail projects, ranging from the stunning Yohji Yamamoto flagship store in a neoclassic building in Antwerp, to museum, office and design environments. This year, he was chosen as one of the 40 under 40 European Architects by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. This unique barn house design by JagerJanssen Architects has made a modern statement in the small town of just 1,500 homes, nestled in the northern part of The Netherlands. Overlooking water and surrounded by a magnificent landscape, this contemporary design comes in the form of an old-fashioned barn with a newfangled twist. Wrapped in clear “skin”, this house features a roof and facade of anthracite-colored corrugated sheets, strategically placed so as to allow entry of natural light and the surrounding views. Inside, this barn house features a “soft” look with walls clad in light woods, and a spacious layout. The home’s basement level is slightly above grade, creating a podium and placing the main level one meter above the ground, lending it a unique floating feeling.
