A bicycle shop in Altlandsberg, Germany advertises their goods with a wall of around 120 bikes mounted on the building’s exterior in lieu of a sign.
I like the idea, the graphic effect and the grandeur of it all.

In collaboration with Kunsthaus Bregenz, Antony Gormley is realizing a unique project in the mountains of Vorarlberg. Horizon Field will be the first art project of its kind erected in the mountains and the largest landscape intervention in Austria to date.

There is enough time to go and see the project, it will remain in the mountains of Australia until April 2012. Please take a look overhere for lots more photos.

This morning the weather was beautiful and our dog Lucky Fons the 4^e could not wait to begin our daily walk …. It is now a few hours later and we just had the greatest downpour of all time with hail and thunderstorms.

Jan, my partner quit smoking this week! His mood didn’t improve but his work ethic did, to be more precise, he is just downright hyper…but I am very glad he quit smoking! He finished his sculpture and is brooding already on a new idea …

Sjoerd Vroonland is in his fourth year of Product Design at the School of  Arts in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

He was inspired by the traditional and early industrial furniture designs from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, especially the collection of Thonet chairs. With those in mind Sjoerd devised new connection methods.

This is what he says about the technique ; “With wooden beads attached to each other – like a ball-joint –threading them and  putting tension on them, I make a chair frame.”

The designs are very innovative and so far only for sale in Coming Soon in Arnhem, The Netherlands.. There is a nice site with lots of exciting designs from chairs to jewelry to clothes hangers.

Johanna Törnqvist is educated in fashion design, ceramics and image therapy, and has worked in Paris, New York and Japan. Today she lives and works in Stockholm. Her neck ribbons were exhibited at the Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Decorative Arts in Gothenburg.

Johanna Törnqvist wants to erase the boundaries between craft, fashion and folklore and give a new perspective of what folklore is today. She made neck ribbons out of small pieces of ribbon, lace and buttons that she found in her grandmothers house.

At the moment there is a solo show of Maggie in the Ferring Gallery in Pittsfield Massachusets. Maggie herself tells us about the paintings…
