This Green and low-energy house in Amsterdam is the home of architect Pieter Weijnen.
It is a real eco-house with many unusual features; it has a wood-burning stove, a rainwater tank and—a bit unusual for the city—a wind turbine on the roof.
House 2.0
Inside a whole tree was used instead of a girder, adobe walls instead of plaster and on the outside the house has a charred-wood facade.
Reused timber
Charred wood for the siding
It’s clear that this isn’t your run-of-the-mill eco-house.
