Finally a beautiful exhibition that’s really close to where I live!
BRUTALE GROEI, an exhibition of sculptures and objects by Karin Kortenhorst, is held from February 18 through 20 May 20, 2012 at the Vlecht Museum in Noordwolde, The Netherlands.
Since 1990 Karin Kortenhorst works with metal wire in a very personal way , she wraps, turns and weaves it.
One can see a steady progression in her work from smaller wearable jewelry and accessories, to larger theatrical objects. Over the years the sculptural aspect gets definitely the upper hand.
The adorning itself is becoming less important. The wearer, the body is part of the installation. The exhibition of her latest work show objects that are no longer distinct from the human body, but form a unity with the body.
You can find more information about BRUTALE GROEI at the site of the Vlecht Museum.
ALSO WORTH GOING:
To close the current exhibition; Under Con2struction a Textile Market will be held on February 5 at the Vlecht Museum.
