This time of the year there are many Art Fairs going on.
So far we went to The Open Art Fair, the Ceramic Fair Keramisto and this coming sunday we are going to visit, Meesterlijk, a Design and Crafts Fair
in Amsterdam…
Many of you asked me what we bought at Keramisto, well here they are…
The turquoise pot in the middle is by Karin Putsch-Grassi. The other two are by Inke and Uwe Lerch (no website)
Porselain towels by Daniela Schlagenhauf
Two pots by Inke and Uwe Lerch (no website)
I am real happy with my new ceramic purchases!

The turquoise pot is a wonderful piece. Is it made with the raku technique? The other purchases are beautiful too!

Yes Erica, I believe so.
I am nor very fond of Raku but this is done differently. The texture is layered, you don’t see in it the photo but the darker parts are laying deeper.

Gorgeous! I love the muted colours and textures.
And those towels are incredible. Interested to know how you will display them in your house?

Good question Lois,
I think a wooden stick (bamboo?) protruding from the wall …

Erica, this is what Mark Smalley a potter told me about the technique used on the turkoois pot.
“The cracked texture looks to me like it was done by drying the surface, then expanding the pot from the inside. “
