In a previous post on this blog I wrote about the grand “open air meals” of the American artist and landscape architect Jim Denevan.
Now the same type of extraordinairy dinners are oragnized in The Netherlands.
With minimal resources the local chefs prepare extraordinairy dinners.
There is for instance no power in the fields. It look beautiful don’t you think?
The ingredients are not more than twenty kilometers from the table and everyone takes his own plate from home …
These meals are organized by “Buitengewoon in het Land”.
This special “restaurant without walls” travels in the summer and works closely with regional producers, land owners, chefs and restaurateurs who find it a challenge to prepare meals in special places with special products.
In an orchard, a pasture, a vineyard or an ancient vegetable garden.
With regional, artisan-produced ingredients – lettuce and herbs picked a few hours before dinner, fresh fruit from the trees around you, oysters just from the sea, and meat or fish of good descent.

It is Erica, as a matter of fact I am preparing dinner as we speak and we are eating in the garden this evening!

What a great idea!
Who has to do the washing up?
I hope you had a lovely dinner out last night. We ate dinner in the garden with our neighbours over the weekend – but it has been raining here since!
