I discovered a new ceramist I really like!
Her name is Mel Robson and she is a Brisbane-based ceramic artist.
Her stunning works are inspired by items from the domestic landscape, such as maps, letters, sewing patterns, old wallpaper and photographs, and evoke both memories and nostalgia.
Most of her work can be seen on her interesting blog if you click right here.
Lois of 13 Threads was so kind to pass this pigeon post to me. So… if even the famous blog Swiss-Miss talks about pigeons surly I can? Remember the ugly baby pigeon born in my pigeon coop only 4 weeks ago? Here it is much more good looking don’t you think?
For the last couple of days we had very nice weather and suddenly everything popped out of the ground in my little herb garden.

Rosemary, sage, time, parsley, chives, oerprei (highly recommended) different kinds of salade, maggie plant, strawberries, kohlrabi (already eaten by slugs), oregano… Do you have more Petronella?

Edie can’t believe how big and how beautiful the bird has become!
What is oerprei?

Pretty amazing how fast baby pigeons grow Erica.
And Lois, oerprei litterly translated means: Mother of all leek. (oer= acient/mother, prei = leek) It looks like miniature leek with much smaller leaves. You eat and use the leaves sort of like chives, chopped up.

You can actually see the oerprei in the far left hand corner of the photo Lois. Once planted it grows rapidly and is above ground pretty much year round. It tastes like onion but is also kind of sweet.
