Twenty years ago I bought my first African basket in a second hand shop.
They are virtually indestructible, only the color fades over time.

They are also useful, very light and they carry a whole lot. Suddenly I see the baskets everywhere, including on the net.

Through Handmade Charlotte and Dai Design I found Baskets of Africa an online store with a great selection of beautiful Fair Trade baskets from Africa.

Gorgeous colours! Too beautiful to carry to our local Tesco to do the shopping but definitely a must for a visit to the local market, somewhere nice, on a sunny morning, perhaps to buy some nice bread…and coffee…
Sorry, Marion it is dull and grey here again!
