On January 16 th 2010, the exhibition “Vruchtbaar Nu” starts in Museum Catharijne Convent in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The artist and professor Design, Ruudt Peters has a fascination for the Lingham, an age old, religious oriental fertility symbol. This fascination inspired him to invite artists and designers from around the world to design a contemporary Lingham.
In the exhibition “Vruchtbaar NU” the contemporary fertility symbols will be exhibited next to the historical predecessors.
A few names of the jewelers, designers and artists who will participate are: Marcel Wanders, Frederic Braham, Nedda El-Asmar, Iris Eichenberg, Anders Lagombra, Suska Mackert, Ted Noten, Ruudt Peters, Zeger Reyer, Studio Makkink & Bey, Johanna Schweizer, Christoph Zellweger.
