Snow and hungry birds of pray…

January 9th, 2010 · 3 Comments · Animals, Life, Nature, Walking the Dogs

In the northern part of Holland it still looks like this, like a fairy tail…

Jigger and me on our daily walk.

Birds in nature have a difficult time finding their food. Not only this cute robin but also birds of pray have a shortage of forage.

Like for instance this Goshawk.

Because of him my pigeons have to miss their twice a day flight. The minute I release the pigeons from their coop here comes the hawk to attack them. In the last 2 weeks this murderer killed 2 pigeons, so for the time beiing I keep my birds locked up.

I wish you all a very nice weekend in the snow or who knows …maybe even on skates?

Oh Marion, you have just as much snow as we do. My dog loves the snow and won’t come in. Shame about your pigeons, we can’t think about the natural food chain when we see little ones in danger. We have a very fat robin in our garden too. :)

Do you have two dogs Jennifer? We just bought an 8 months old puppy from the shelter, a mix Border collie. So now we have two dogs again. Can you imagine the fun they have together?

I’d love 2 dogs Marion and would in a heartbeat if I lived on the edge of town. They really do keep one another company – my dog demands ALL my attention, it’s like having a baby who’s never going to grow up. :)
