Once upon a time…

Once upon a time we lived in a small town on the red soil of Georgia, U.S.A. That’s were I saw my first gourds and pumpkins. In the south with it’s sunny climate you had an incredible amount of pumpkins in all varieties and shapes. The orange pumpkin is the kind you see the most over here. And by now most Dutch people know that you actually can eat those big orange beauties.
So here is an easy to make in the oven recipe for the orange sugar pumpkin…

Pumpkin with honey and herbs in the oven…
Heat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Cut the pumpkin in fairly small pieces (don’t peel). Melt the butter add the herbs and honey. Place the pumpkin pieces on their skin on a baking sheet  Pour the butter mixture over the pieces and place in the oven for about 40 minutes. Recipe via Elle magazine

This is what you need for 4 persons…

1 1/2 kg. pumpkin
80 gr. butter
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon coriander seed
100 gr. liquid honey
