Last Sunday at ‘Meesterlijk’ we walked the whole afternoon through art, design and craft. I saw a lot of beautiful things. In this post a few of my favorites.
Ieva Laurine is a member of a designer’s collective called ‘Design drive’. She is from Riga, Latvia. She made this hammock…and these are her words…
The hammock is like a flying cloud. And it can make you fly as well. It gives shelter from the busy everyday life, taking you into another world. It is like going back in time to your childhood, when everything seemed so easy and accessible and you could almost walk above the ground. The hammock can be used inside the house as well as outside. Besides the functional side it is a sculptural object that reacts on wind blow and movement. Photo: Reinis Hofmanis

Claire Verkoyen a ceramist based in Amsterdam, makes beautiful vases and objects. Please look at her site because a lot of her work is on there.

On a stage was a show of models with outrageous hair styles. It was pretty funny…

I do love her ‘big art’ on these pieces, she’s a very clever lady.
